bien joué, Greg…!
Wynn Meyer
22:59
When do you post this, and when do you expect students will read/do it?
Ageliki Nicolopoulou
23:02
Why can't we do this with the students in class?
Jo Grim
24:42
Do you recommend doing that welcome module as the first day of class asynchronously or before the first day of class asynchronously?
Susan kart
25:35
Ageliki, I think part of having the intro online is for students who either enter the class late, or who cannot access course site during the first week of class (holds on registration, etc..)
Sharon Friedman
27:33
If we are going to record these classes, where can we direct students to the recordings?
Jo Grim
29:41
Is there an example course site page we can see as an example of the way you are organizing all of this?
Wynn Meyer
30:18
^
Peggy Kane
30:37
Sharon, if you record your Zoom meetings to the cloud you will receive an email with the link to the recording. We recommend moving these cloud recordings to Panopto or to record locally and then upload to Panopto: https://confluence.cc.lehigh.edu/x/ygT5Bg
Will Lowry (he/him)
32:36
Do students in a class automatically have access to a Panopto folder with the recordings, or do we need to set that up, or do we need to link to that from CourseSite?
Luis Brunstein
33:31
We are here
Wynn Meyer
33:37
What about Universal Design for students with vision limitations?
Jim Roberts
33:47
ZZZZZZZZZZZ
Peggy Kane
34:19
Will: Here are instructions for creating the link from Panopto to your Course Site: https://confluence.cc.lehigh.edu/x/-xTTAQ
Ken Kodama
34:35
Can students share a screen in a breakout room, just to the participants in the room?
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
35:11
@ken yes that is correct! Student can share screens in a breakout room
julia maserjian

Location, Lighting and Sound guidelines https://confluence.cc.lehigh.edu/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=120098616
Ken Kodama
35:46
Thanks….should we use better webcams then those in our laptops?
Peggy Kane
35:59
Wynn, with regard to students requesting accommodations, all students work with the Office of Disability Services to determine the type of accommodation required. Once an accommodation is determined the Office will contact LTS as needed to determine how to meet this accommodation.
Jo Grim
36:15
What if we do not have powerpoint installed on our computer? Will panopto capture slides from google drive, for example, or from the cloud?
Marina Puzakova
36:26
to Ken's question, can those screens shared in breakout rooms then be shared to everyone in class?
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
37:10
@Marina — student can rejoin the main zoom room and share one at a time
julia maserjian
37:38
Ken, most newer computers have pretty good cameras. Lighting really helps. If your computer or laptop is disappointing, contact the Digital Media Studio inmediad@lehigh.edu
Jim Roberts
37:50
Video lengths -- I always tell the students HOW LONG each video is, so they can plan their time. 15-20 minutes
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
38:10
That is a good Practice, Jim!
Ken Kodama
38:18
OK….it’s a new laptop but the camera doesn’t seem as good as my older desktop
Nitzan Lebovic
38:56
Can we have a Panopto workshop soon?
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
39:09
Panopto has a lot of cool features like adding quizzes and being able to see WHO viewed and for how long.
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
39:17
I am happy to help with Panopto anytime
Jim Roberts
39:19
Remember students will often view your Panopto videos at 1.5 - 2 times actual speed!
julia maserjian
40:07
Jim pointed in yesterday’s session: if you mess up in your recorded lecture, pause 5-10 seconds which makes it easier to edit.
Susan kart
40:56
Greg’s desktop is stressing me out…! so. much. work. dang I need to up my game!
Ken Kodama
43:44
It is a bit overwhelming
Jim Roberts
44:57
Ken --- remember, you don't need to adopt EVERYTHING - do what works for you. Just think about how things might be different from both your perspective and how students perceive what you are doing.
Ken Kodama
45:23
Right….I know, but all the suggestions seem good
Jim Roberts
46:32
Link to Respondus info, please?
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
46:50
Ok — we are still working on respondus page !
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
47:11

52:40
Thank you. This has been helpful!
Marina Puzakova
53:28
Which program to use to be able to circle things in your Zoom presentation (like a marker)?
Ken Kodama
53:44
If I host a zoom from the Lehigh.zoom.us account, does it matter my students aren’t connected to the Lehigh VPN
K. Sivakumar
53:53
Great session. Thank you Greg.
Ken Kodama
53:58
Will we still be able to have unlimited sessions?
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
54:46
https://lehigh.zoom.us/ has more options — but the course site is easy and creates a zoom icon
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
55:31

Zoom links are only good for 120 days —
John Vilanova
56:41
Have to run, but thanks for this and for everything this summer, Greg and all. This has been invaluable.
Marina Puzakova
58:17
If you create a Zoom link through course site (vs. Zoom website), does it have a polling option?
Peggy Kane
59:39
Marina: If you create a Zoom meeting in Course Site it will by default have polling available when in the meeting.
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
59:55
You have to go to https://lehigh.zoom.us/ to set up all zoom polls
Peggy Kane
01:00:12
If you want to create poll questions before the session, you can do this through lehigh.zoom.us
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
01:00:23
Yes — thanks, Peggy!
Marina Puzakova
01:00:28
I thought so. Thank you!
Jim Roberts
01:00:29
Zoom session -- to be clear, set up the zoom session in Coursesite, then go to Lehigh.zoom.us to change options, etc., and they will be part of your Coursesite Zoom. One example -- I "pre-assign" breakout rooms -- can only do on Lehigh.zoom.us.
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
01:01:03
Thanks Jim — the course site zoom tool has very limited options
Susan kart
01:02:34
I have a syllabus joke! But no one will read it…
Sharon Friedman
01:02:37
What are the options if your internet fails during a zoom meeting for class?
Nitzan Lebovic
01:02:47
What’s the best way to integrate movie clips into a zoom?
Wynn Meyer
01:02:49

Wynn Meyer

Wynn Meyer
01:05:02
Where do you post for physics postdocs? I’m not ready for a postdoc yet but am interested in a postbac/predoc informatician. The one place I know to post is a field-specific listserv, but maybe there are others?
Wynn Meyer
01:05:10
Sorry, meant to send to Anders!
Jerome Licini audio
01:05:25
What is the recommended Zoom link setup? (Require password? Require some login?)
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
01:06:04
Authenticated users and waiting room -
Wynn Meyer
01:06:15
Could also Slack from your phone maybe?
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
01:06:22
Is what I recommend
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
01:06:50
Yes Wynn good idea
Jim Roberts
01:06:53
But a waiting room means you have to pay attention -- it pops up and is easy to do, but can be distracting if you have lat arrivals.
Jerome Licini audio
01:06:57
With "authenticated users" will the link automatically take them to a Lehigh single sign on page?
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
01:07:51
@ Jerome - authenticated users essentially means that have to have an official zoom account — I can help review zoom settings with you as well
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
01:08:32
Excellent suggestions, grace
Katherine Glover
01:08:34
A lot of Zoom is awkward
Katherine Glover
01:08:46
15 minute rule if instructor drops connection!
Luis Brunstein
01:09:04
Good point
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
01:12:22
I plus that, Jim
Luis Brunstein
01:14:32
Is not?
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
01:14:33
You can add a co-host to all your zoom meetings when you set them up as well…I suggest Jim — lol…I hear his modem is cleared.
Jim Roberts
01:14:56
Ha, Ha Ha!
Will Lowry (he/him)
01:15:18
Is there a way to see your CourseSite as the students see it?
Will Lowry (he/him)
01:15:45
perfect, thanks!
Holly Zakos (she, her, hers)
01:16:21
We are here to help! And appreciate all your hard work.
